We have 4 kittens that  we found when they were about 3 days old. Their mother abandoned them in our yard. They are now 6 weeks old that we are trying to wean them.. They are eating are all eating wet  kitten food mixed with Just Born formula and dry food every 4-5 hours around the clock. Can I stop the middle of the night feeding and just leave them some dry food and water when we go to bed. We have been waking them up at 3 am for this feeding anyway? Also how do I get them to stop taking the bottle? After they've had a bit of the wet food and milk they begin climbing allover me crying for the bottle. After they finish the bottle they go eat some more and then go back to playing. Sorry this is so long, but i am finding this weaning process very confusing.

If they are indeed 6 weeks old, then they shouldn't be bottle feeding any longer

Just leave them a tray with some of the kitten formula in it (I use a cookie baking sheet) Mix the formula well (I use a blender) pour it out into the cookie sheet and show them the treat. They will be lapping and playing in it almost immediately. Sometimes, you have to put a dab of the mixture on their noses to get them started.

You can't leave the formula out long- 20 minutes and it will start to air-sour. It generally doesn't last that long anyway! lol

Bless you for attempting this challenging job of raising kittens who were likely ill. It is exhausting to get up every 2-4 hours round the clock to be sure the kittens are fed, stimulated, warmed, comforted. We make such poor substitutes for a good Queen's care.
