You are ahead of the game because the cat is friendly. Would simply be a matter of the folks wanting him to put him in their house and working slowly with him. Of course be sure he is neutered and vaccinated first and keep him isolated from other pets for at least two weeks if not longer. It can be done, I do it all the time regardless of age of the cat or kitten.

Here is a blog post of mine with helpful tips

http://www.feralcatbehavior.com/375/room-service.html

Edited by scratch - Today at 7:13am

She really needs a vet because something major is going on with her diet or lack thereof

The vaccination isn't 100% effective but it does offer a measure of protection.

He is TNR, had all his shots last year. He's due for I guess boosters. But he also got a FeLV shot last year cause the vet said he lives with Hello Kitty (a boy) didn't know it at the time. But now everyone is telling me why did I do that, cause if he is ever caught (yes, his ears are tipped) they would put him down cause he would test postive for FeLV.

So anyone have an opinion, of more info they I could use

We just bought a new cabin in the country. The 1st time we looked at the house a friendly cat came running to greet us. We just assumed he belonged to someone in the area. He even came into the house with us! We thought he was just overly friendly, but in talking to a neighbor we learned the renters just left the cat behind when they moved. The neighbors have been feeding him, but don't want to adopt him.
We have an indoor/outdoor cat of our own, Kayak, and intend to adopt this cat, but don't have a clue as to how to go about making it work. Learned this cat was also indoor/outdoor so his scent is all over the house already and OUR cat will be the newcomer.
Any suggestions on how we can make this work for both of them will certainly be appreciated.
(No need to suggest we hunt down the renters and read them the riot act...we'd be more than happy to but they're long gone.)
