What men really need

I don’t think much of these fellows who have a macho image to project. You know who I’m talking about. The one’s with the loud cars or pick-up trucks, thumping stereos or other obnoxious propensities that they use to get people to look their way. It’s usually those who think they’re tough as nails but they usually have glass jaws.

I will admit that there was a time when I was just like them. But age has mellowed me and taught me how to get an attractive woman to look my way and smile.

Believe it or not, women in traffic do look at me especially when we’re in a traffic jam. Most usually give me a big smile. Is there anything in the world more beautiful that the smile of a beautiful woman that is directed at you?
I submit that there is not.

Of course, I don’t think that they are smiling at the cute, hot-looking trucker sitting in the driver’s seat. I think it has more to do with one of that driver’s cat that happens to catch their attention.

Think about it; we live in a society that puts a lot of emphasis on stereotypes. I have no control over that. But I do happen to know that many women like, belay that… love cats. Those smiles I see comes from the fact that yes ladies, men, real men can and do love cats!

Of course, there is very probably a sad flip-side to this situation. I’m sure that one or more of these lovely ladies is trying to prevail on their spouse/boyfriend/significant other to let her get a cat of her own and he is refusing.

These guys are paying homage to their macho side, saying something stupid like “I hate cats!” The next thing you know, their lady comes home and says, “Oh honey, guess what I saw today? There was this big semi beside me in traffic today and the driver had cats with him!”
The poor fellow will probably think to himself, “Man, there she goes again”.

You see for my money, cats are the perfect traveling companionsThey sleep most of the day, they don’t need to be walked, they don’t make a lot of noise and when properly trained, you don’t have to be too concerned with them running away.

Cats can be moody, but so can a dog. I think that guys have a harder time liking cats because a dog lives to please it’s master. A cat on the other hand lives to please itself and must be met at least halfway on most, if not all things.

Sure, a cat will keep your bed warm but it isn’t out of deference to you, it’s because the cat likes a warm bed.

So fellows, take some sage advice. If your lady is a cat-lover, sooner or later you will have a cat in your home. So man-up!  Surprise your honey, adopt a cat. All three of you will benefit from the experience.
