Cat Products for Cats and Cat Owners that Never Disappoint

Sharing your life with a cat can be a challenge at times. But, there are products available that make the job a bit easier for the both of you. If your cat gets easily bored, if you are looking for good, interactive play toys or just comfortable and affordable cat furniture, you don’t need to look any further. The following cat products are my all-time favorites:

Playtime with Kitty:

www.nekoflies.com- manufactured with your kitties prey drive in mind, these toys will bring the most reluctant cat out from under the bed to play. Supervised play only- and hang on tight because this toy makes your cat want to tug…hard! Made in the U.S.A.

www.felinefurniture.com – several reasons why this company is my favorite and a hit with all my kitties; the owners listen to constructive criticism and then will go the distance to improve the product. If it breaks down, you can replace the furniture parts for pennies and you can carry a unit upstairs with one hand. Plus they are always introducing new products designed to make your cat’s life easier.

Every cat lover should own this book! Fully Revised and Updated Cat Owner’s Home Veterinary Handbook Third Edition by Debra M. Eldridge, DVM  Delbert G. Carlson, DVM, Liisa D. Carlson, DVM and James M. Griffin, MD. A user-friendly, comprehensive and essential tool for any cat lover’s library. A Special Index of Symptoms on the inside and the back of the cover, with more detailed symptoms and what they point to inside the book. Order through Amazon.com

http://www.just-add-water.us/  Artist Ebi Eberhard’s ceramic water fountains are the best out there for pets and people too! They are so easy to care for, handle more water outflow than the regular pet fountains and you get a hand in saying how to decorate them. My cats love these fountains and I get the biggest kick out of Willow, one of my mackerel tabbies. She will stand with her front feet on top of the frog fountain and watch for over an hour the water spilling out of the frog’s mouth. Are they pricier than the regular pet fountains? Yes, but they are WELL worth it and unlike the normal pet fountains they hold up well over time. I have had mine now for two years and wouldn’t trade it for any existing pet fountain on the market today.

http://www.trimlineinc.com/  This soft, flexible veterinary recovery collar means your cat has easier access to food bowls, water bowls and even play toys without having to fight the stiff plastic of an Elizabethan collar normally used. Most cats are stressed out after being at the vet and being in surgery and this collar (once they get used to it) reduces the stress factor immensely. When you place this collar around your cat, cat treats or bribes are recommended by this rescuer to help them ease into wearing it. No cat likes anything around their neck but even if they run away, they won’t hurt themselves like they would with a stiffer collar.

http://www.mewvie.com/  My cats think this DVD is more exciting than catnip, more captivating than watching the goldfish swimming in his bowl and more entertaining than twenty minutes of supervised play with string toys. It is a babysitter for bored cats, a way to get a shy kitten to come out from under the bed and I have even used it to stimulate the appetite on a sick kitty. You can set it on continuous play and leave the room for hours only to find your cat still watching the action when you return.

Offered by SmartCat the Peek a prize cat toy box will keep kitty entertained for hours. The various balls that come with it will often end up on the carpet or floor so it is similar to having a toddler who keeps dropping toys on the floor, although I have had some enterprising kittens figure out how to fetch the balls and put them back into the box. You can order through Amazon.com or other large pet store supply companies. Durable and well-constructed, this toy brings your cat’s prey drive fully into focus.

http://www.ratherbeecatnip.com/ Ratherbee’s Catnip Cigars are smokin hot with my crew! They are always readily available and hold up well to teeth and claw activity. I find a lot of them under the stove or refrigerator when they magically seem to “vanish.” Some cats become so enamored with the catnip cigars we have tug-of-wars occurring when a new shipment arrives. Inexpensive, highly entertaining and quite durable.

There are not ten products on my list this year; just these eight that have served my cats faithfully and will continue to do so. I encourage you to explore the Internet or the local pet supply stores and add these products to your home.
